A Note on Pricing
As a new transit system, we want to make sure our riders understand how our pricing model works, so they can have a positive experience riding Pronto bikes.
Pronto uses a pricing model that is common among bike share systems, but that may be new to riders in Seattle. Here’s how it works:
A 24-Hour Access Pass ($8) gets you access to the system for 24-hours, and a 3-Day Access Pass ($16) gets you access to the system for 72-hours. These passes include unlimited trips up to 30 minutes each. Trips longer than 30 minutes incur incremental usage fees.
With an Annual Membership ($7.95/mo or $85 up front), members receive access to the system for one year with unlimited trips up to 45 minutes each. Trips longer than 45 minutes incur incremental usage fees.
Why do we do this?
The main reason is because we need to ensure bikes are constantly flowing through the system. If riders are taking trips for hours at a time, we won’t be able to ensure bikes are available for other Pronto riders to share.
We like to be clear about pricing up front, so we post our pricing in as many places as possible. These spots include the station kiosk:

On screen as part of the purchase process (which every 24-hour and 3-Day pass holder must accept):

Plus one more time to confirm riders understand that trips lasting longer than 30 minutes will incur additional fees:

Last but not least, your trip will remain open - and subject to usage fees - until your bike has been successfully docked. When you return your bike at the dock, remember to look for the green light which means that your bike has been returned.

If you have more questions about our pricing, please feel free to review the pricing page on website or send us an email to customerservice@prontocycleshare.com. We’d be happy to hear from you.
