Pronto kicks off National Bike Month with membership promotions, goodies for current members and fun for all!
Seattle, WA – May is National Bike Month, and Pronto is celebrating May 2-8th with its 2nd Annual Pronto Week, bike share officials announced today. The week will be marked with improvements for existing members, special discounts for new members, and a rocking party to round out the week.
Pronto Week and the membership drive comes as Pronto is making several improvements. After analyzing station performance and membership survey feedback, Pronto will relocate several stations in order to optimize utility of the existing network. On March 19, Pronto relocated an underutilized station to Broadway & Denny in front of the new Capitol Hill U-Link Light Rail Station. This station makes bike share accessible to commuters connecting to the light rail and streetcar stops and has quickly become one of the system’s top ten used stations. More station moves will come this spring and summer.
In another step to make Pronto even easier to use and more attractive, Annual Members will soon get 50% more riding time. Starting May 2nd, each membership will include unlimited trips up to 45 minutes each, a change that many potential Pronto customers have requested.
During Pronto Week, new members who want to #GoPronto can sign up for just $6.25/month with a one-year commitment. Or members can save 25% by paying $63 up front, for $63 for a year-long membership.
Annual Members are also encouraged to refer friends. During Pronto Week for each friend who signs up for an Annual Membership, the existing member will receive an extra free month of membership and be entered to win a Primo Cycling Messenger Bag or Backpack ($199 value) from Timbuk2 Seattle. Members can also refer companies and residential buildings to become Pronto Corporate members and receive three free months of membership for each company or building to enroll.
Pronto is running a multi-channel ad campaign to encourage Seattleites to #GoPronto, including debuting a new video entitled “Win the Rat Race” created by Hotcakes Creative, a Washington-based company founded by University of Washington student Sara Al Mughairy. Pronto Week will be capped off by a party at Timbuk2 Seattle from 4-6 pm on Sunday May 8th with free beer provided by Fremont Brewing. The party is open to Pronto members and anyone interested in learning more about the Pronto program.
